Daddy, you said that when you went out West, you could look up and see Cassiopeia and see the "M" and think of Middlebury. Here in Norwich, I can't see any stars, but I still think of you. Sometimes I get very homesick for red leaves and football (American, not soccer) and Thanksgiving and constellations and all of you, but I also know that wherever I go, I have all of you right there behind me. How lucky are we to have such a family? I went running yesterday through the woods, where ivy falls off the trees creating "Hidey-holes" like none other, and I know Grandpa Leo would love that. He would have been very happy underneath the leaves. I wish more than anything I could be at the funeral with all of you, saying goodbye and celebrating a long and fruitful life, but know that in a short time I'll be walking through Logan airport, home again.
i love you so much!
Grandma, as always, it was great to hear you voice. I'll talk to all of you again soon.
XOXO,
Cailin
