Well, lucky me! I reached Cailin this afternoon by Skype and had the pleasure of hearing her voice, clearly recognizable in spite of the static. But she couldn't see me in spite of my new webcam, gift of our Gunilla and her Christer (now ours, too.) We had such a wonderful 3 days/4 nights with them!
I wanted to be in touch with Cailin, knowing how sad it has to be for her to be overseas when her whole family is gathered here in Middlebury to mark the passing of her Grandpa Leo. I am pretty sure he would be very proud of her, absent because she is studying in England. She told me she regrets that she has only 5 or 6 more weeks there, but has plans in place to return at the first opportunity. That's a happy girl.
Tomorrow we will bid a final, fond farewell to Leo. What a guy!
