The Big Apple

For anyone who didn't know, Alex and I spent the last weekend with a few friends in New York City! We stayed with his mom in her apartment in the Upper East Side. It was a beautiful apartment and it was great to get home cooked meals for four days!
They have a great 15 year old deaf poodle named Dammit, and I felt quite swanky walking a poodle in the Upper East Side. If Alex ever gets around to it, there are some pictures of from dog walking in Central Park that he's planning on posting.
We mostly just hung out with friends in the city and slept a lot. On Monday I spent the day with Grady in Brooklyn. It was great to see her and her lovely new apartment and meet her roommate. I had to find my way back from Brooklyn to 97th street by myself on the subway, and it did not go well. I got stuck in rush hour subway traffic and took so many wrong trains. But anyway, I found my way back, without asking for directions once, and when I got back, we had dinner with Alex's godmother in her apartment in the projects, she was hilarious and very eccentric. Afterwards, Felix (a friend who was staying with us) and Alex went to a jazz club in the West Village. Me and Pat didn't feel like paying $20 so we spent the night with Pat's roommate's friends in Brooklyn.

I will fill everyone in with more details when I see you for my birthday dinner (very exciting!) next week, right now its time for me to take an end of the week nap.
